About The Fitizen

Library last reviewed: June 2026

What this site is

The Fitizen is an independent exercise-form reference: 886 movements you can browse by muscle, body part, or equipment, plus 20 in-depth form guides for the lifts where technique matters most. No account, no paywall, no app — just the information you'd want before putting a bar on your back.

Where the information comes from

The catalog is built on the open-source Free Exercise DB, which we've cleaned, reorganized, and extended. The in-depth form guides are distilled from the working consensus of the strength community: established coaching resources and the recurring advice in powerlifting and bodybuilding forums, cross-checked against each other. Where the community genuinely disagrees (low-bar vs. high-bar squats, for example), the guides say so rather than picking a winner.

What this site is not

It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for an in-person coach. If a movement causes pain, or you're training around an injury, see a qualified professional — a form guide can't watch you lift.

Corrections

If a cue is wrong, a muscle listing is off, or a guide contradicts good coaching practice, we want to know and we'll fix it. The library carries a visible “last reviewed” date so you can tell how current the information is.
